Golf Outings
The Theta Kappa Chapter has a long tradition of Golf Outings as part of its alumni and collegiate events with a 25 year continuous string of Homecoming Golf Tournaments since 1986. Only one year have we been rained out, so we diverted to activity at the local bowling alley. We may have had more fun with this as we had the entire bowling alley to ourselves and we were right next to each other for the entire morning. Each Friday morning of Homecoming Weekend, Sigma Nu kicks off its Annual Alumni Golf Tournament at Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro at 8:00 am. We always check to see if our neighbors our playing.
This year alumnus Jim Rawlins (Tuffy), ThK 30, restarted our Spring Golf Tradition with the Spring Fling 2010 in Atlanta. This will continue each year on the 2nd or 3rd weekend of May at various Atlanta area golf courses. This year it was held at “The Woodlands” at Château Elan in Braselton, GA. Alumni travelled from all over the state for this special 3 day event. We have also held the Spring event in middle Georgia at one of the State Parks and included a little nighttime “poker” activity.
