Dr. Luke Pittaway, a GSU Faculty Member, the Theta Kappa Faculty Advisor, a member of the Chapter-Faculty Advisor Team, and a member of the Alumni Advisory Board. Dr. Pittaway is the William A. Freeman Distinguished Chair in Free Enterprise and he is the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership at Georgia Southern University. He joined the Theta Kappa AAB team to assist with Faculty Advisement as well as to participate in our Academic Advisement team. Luke has jumped in with both feet and is extremely active in the advisement of the Chapter.
Luke is married with 3 young girls, lives in Statesboro, and is a citizen of Great Britain, but already has one US Citizen in the family as his youngest daughter was born here. As you can imagine with a young family, a Department Chair, and this he is quite busy, but was willing to give of his time to assist in developing and improving our young men!
Luke did replace anyone on the AAB, but rather is a net addition to the “Faculty & Scholastic Advisement team” comprised of Keith Roughton and Chris Garretson.
Dr. Pittaway is in the College of Business Administration (Management, Marketing & Logistics) at Georgia Southern University. Luke received his PhD at The University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in Management Studies and his undergraduate degree from The University of Huddersfield in Hotel and Catering Business. He is an established academic in the field of entrepreneurship and helped found and lead three centers for entrepreneurial research and education including the latest at Georgia Southern University’s Center for Entrepreneurial Learning and Leadership.
