    55th Anniversary of Theta Kappa

     

  • The celebration of the 55th Anniversary of our beloved Theta Kappa Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity is Saturday, May 17, 2025, so, you should plan to be there! We were founded on Friday, November 17, 1967, and officially chartered as a collegiate chapter at Georgia Southern College on Sunday, May 10, 1970. We will be celebrating all weekend and most of the year, but we will have a reception that Sat., May 17 at 6:00 – 9:00 pm at Dr. Scofflaw’s @ The Works, 214 Chattahoochee Row NW, Atlanta, GA 30318 (West Midtown).

    The date is close to our actual anniversary date, but it is after graduation, so both alumni and collegiate members can participate. We chose the location because of the unique atmosphere, open spaces, adjoining restaurants, and the fact that we didn’t have to put up a $6,000-$8,000 guarantee. So, enjoy an early Saturday evening with your brothers and make plans throughout the weekend for golf, visiting, or just relaxing with your closest brothers and families. The Braves are out of town that weekend, so there are plenty of things to do across our fair city.

     

    We are looking for 15+ “ambassadors” to do the last-minute recruitment and to help drive attendance from your era, pledge class, or graduation class. You can volunteer at: www.sigmanugsu.com/55th-team, so sign up to be an ambassador. Our ambassadors will be asked to recruit, cajole, and encourage 10-20 brothers to attend this special weekend event. If you remember, our 50th anniversary happened right after the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic and had to be cancelled, so this is our 50th & 55th anniversaries combined.
